Liz was awarded Salinger and University of Edinburgh academic scholarships to read music at the University of Edinburgh where she graduated in 2002 with Honours. From an early age Alison sang in operettas but was persuaded for the greater good to take up an instrument! At the age of eight she started playing the viola in Edinburgh and went on to study at the RSAMD and Napier College. She has taught and freelanced for many years, playing and recording all types of music including pop music with the Glasgow based band The Pearlfishers, and is a regular performer at Celtic Connections.Played viola professionally in Sicily for two years and with RLPO (Liverpool) for three years. Principla viola with Scottish Sinfonia since 1987 and founder member of Allestri Ensemble.Born in North Yorkshire, Pete began playing the cello at the age of eight, and went on to study music at Edinburgh University, graduating in 2003 with honours. Pete has played and toured with many great artists as a session cellist, most recently the Willard Grant Conspiracy. As a founder member of Khaya/Desc/The Leg, Pete has toured and recorded in America, Holland, Germany. Tim is currently studying music at Edinburgh University. He studied cello at Junior RSAMD for four years previously, where he was taught by Betsy Taylor. Tim recently won a scholarship from Edinburgh University as a result of his end of year performance recital.Born in Edinburgh to polish parents, Anna began piano lessons at the age of six, and took up the double bass in her late teens, subsequently studing piano, voice and bass at the R.S.A.M.D.Since graduating, Anna has played with many orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra for a number of years including touring in Hong Kong.Web design by Creative Business Solutions Edinburgh, SCOTLANDBUY THE DVD
